A dragon with a frightful reputation, Buran (as the humans have come to name him) has settled into a peaceful lifestyle within his territory deep within in the Ural Mountains. Buran was once notorious for slaying any dragon that dared to enter his domain, guarding the land he believed was rightfully his from those who threatened this right.

Nowadays, as the dragon population dwindles in number, Buran busies himself by observing the humans that wander the mountains, and even daring to venture beyond his territory boundaries to the lands beyond on rare occasions. A dragon with little to do and much time on his hands, Buran has grown curious of the world the humans have crafted in little over two centuries. Unlike his own kind, Ivan usually tolerates the humans in his lands, viewing them as a species lower than himself, but not as low as he would consider a dull-witted animal. They are intelligent, but foolish and hardly ever consider the consequences of their actions in the dragon’s opinion.

Interestingly enough, Buran has participated in human wars and affairs. On rare occasions, a man claiming to represent the “Tsar” and nation itself would visit the dragon in his lair, and consult with him the affairs of the kingdom. Though Buran has little interest in the dealings of humans, the dragon would inform this man on how the Tsar should deal with his or her various troubles, based on the wisdom of an experienced dragon. After the fall of the monarchy however, he has had no contact with the government ruling the land, and his existence has been excused as merely that of a legend. (However it is rumored the man who acted as the messenger still lives, despite the passing of nearly three hundred years. Who could this strange human be?)

Though his existence is secret to the world beyond the Ural Mountains (and he plans to keep it that way), the local villagers within his territory are all quite aware of the intimidating dragon’s presence. To this day, no tourists or outsiders have discovered Ivan or his lair. But will this running luck of the dragon last…?

Only time will tell.

Facts:

:bulletwhite: A master of hiding his emotions, Ivan can hide all secrets behind his deceivingly sweet smile.

:bulletblue: Along with the usual diet of any proper carnivore, Ivan enjoys dining on human dishes every now and then, and especially likes their alcoholic beverages. Within his lair, he has made himself a space where he can store food and drinks if he should ever wish to cook himself a meal.

:bulletred: Ivan has a tendency to act very childish in front of others, while at other times seeming mature beyond his age. This would be due to the fact that the dragon’s mentality isn’t as healthy as it should be. It is said that when Ivan is angered, or in any way unstable, another side of him will reveal itself to the unfortunate victim…ever witnessed a crazed dragon on rampage?

:bulletwhite: Though often unaware of human affairs and trifles, Ivan is very connected with the environment of his lands. It is said that because of his bond with nature itself, the dragon has been gifted with extraordinary abilities, such as controlling the weather, and fertility of his territory. Of course, these rumors are false, though Ivan has an unusual breath that chills rather than burns. Perhaps this ice breath of his offers some truth to the tale?

:bulletblue: Due to the fact that he is part of a species which branches off from the Chuvash dragons, Ivan can transform into a human-like form when needed. If he should ever need to travel to a human settlement, or beyond the boundaries of his territory, this is the form he will take on. Even when appearing as a human though, there are distinctive traits that make him appear quite different from an ordinary human.

:bulletred: Ivan has made his territory in the northern regions of the Ural Mountain range, though it used to span more than half of the nation at one point. He was notorious for having the largest of any dragon territory in history, and was a constant threat for his neighboring dragons. However, as times went on, Ivan has mellowed out and settled for the most part on the Ural mountain tops.

:bulletwhite: Ivan is quite large in his normal dragon form, even compared to other dragons! Standing at a hefty 22 feet, Ivan is quite intimidating and very, very strong. He knows how to be careful of his huge stature, though he often forgets how fragile everything else is compared to him. When standing nearby this massive fellow, it's probably best to watch him...VERY carefully.

:bulletblue: Being a dragon, Ivan is very territorial and can be quite aggressive (or sadistic, depending on how you look at it) towards other dragons. Unless they prove they have no intention of invading his lands, Ivan will be swift with what he believes is appropriate punishment, whether that be burying them in snow, breaking a wing, or slaughtering them to the point of death. It really depends on how they act towards him, and on his moods. So other dragons....BEWARE! And be cautious! Its easy to get on Ivan's bad side!

:bulletred: On the flipside of the above fact, if a dragon goes above and beyond to show that they would in fact pledge allegiance to Ivan (meaning they essentially give all their lands to him, and would serve him in a fight), then Ivan might be willing to go so far to call them 'comrade'... He will not call a human his comrade though, instead they are his 'little friends'.

:bulletwhite: Ivan enjoys taking part in human festivities and hobbies, and has learned many dances and customs that come along with being human. In the village, he will often come in carrying his homemade balalaika to play for the village children, so that the humans in the village would come to see him as a friendly visitor who just happens to have horns and odd ears on his head. He's actually quite good with the instrument, it being his favorite since he had a master teach him during the 19th century.

:bulletblue: The dragon will reward the village sometimes with top-quality meat of the prey he kills, if they are respectful of his woods and do not hunt there without his strict permission. The dear, moose, or whichever animal he considers an appropriate gift, is left in the center of the village in pristine condition, having killed it with his freezing breath rather than mauling it as he would with his usual meals.

:bulletred: Despite popular belief, Ivan does not eat humans. He did once, with a human hunter who was trying to stir up trouble for him in his adolescent years, and the dragon learned quickly how bitter and gross humans tasted to his tongue. Other dragons may be known to feast on human flesh, but for Ivan its like eating rotten eggs. This is quite common amongst the Chuvash actually, you will not find one Chuvash who is fond of eating humans, only wild animals of the woods. If Ivan is particularly angry or cross with a human, he will either harm the human enough to teach them a lesson, or on special occasions, bite their heads off to kill them quickly.

Ivan hardly ever resorts to this violence however, and is overall quite fond of humans for their creativity and social quirks.

ASK BOX:

(NOTE: This Ivan is not the personification of Russia, he’s a dragon with the same personality, traits, and way of thinking as Ivan. If you ask him a question like “What do you think of China, aru?”, he will not understand what exactly you’re talking about, unless you explain to him who exactly China is, so he doesn’t confuse Yao with the actual nation of China.

For simplicity’s sake, I have it so he has encountered all the other Hetalia nations in their dragon forms, which I have made since there are not many other dragon accounts that are active. But as he does not participate in human politics or such, it may be best to avoid such questions like that.

I will not answer the types of questions I view as inappropriate, and if that is the case I will inform you with a reply.

Other than that, he is open to a wide variety of questions~! Have fun, and don’t be afraid to participate in a roleplay with him~! : ) )

It was a harsh and unforgiving Winter for Wilson; a few days in and the poor man already had enough of the freezing weather. It was around dusk when Wilson had settled down in the wilderness to make a fire, managing to get one up and running - but even the dim light didn't provide as much warmth as he would've liked. Ever since wandering into this new area, he hadn't been very lucky with resources, only managing to catch a few rabbits now and then and nothing more. He was hungry, exhausted, and freezing - but he still managed to pull through the low temperatures. Sitting beside the fire and trying to warm himself up, the middle-aged man shuddered and wrapped his arms around his trembling self; he could hear the distant howling of wolves, which made him flinch, but there was nothing much he could do now other than avoid freezing to death.
